WOOHOO!!!

Wednesday was a great day!! We went to another pulmonologist appointment. Little Miss Abigail has made GREAT progress. She was able to graduate from day time oxygen. She is cord free when she is awake. We just hook her back up for night time and her long day time nap -- pretty much anytime she will be in a deep sleep. WOOHOO!!

I LOVE IT!! We were dancing around last night, enjoying that we were not getting wrapped up in any cords. After the appointment we took a quick trip to daddy's work so his co-workers could meet her.

As for her measurement updates: I was not smart enough to pay attention to her length, because I was so anxious for her updated weight. Little Missy now weights almost 12 pounds. They measure in g/kg and then convert it. At her last appointment she weighed around 4.3 kg (I think they said), and she weighed 5.4 kg yesterday. She gained over a kilo in 29 days - the doctor said she was averaging 36g a day. She was very happy with her weight gain. The official conversion they gave me was 11.88 lbs. Abigail has gained almost ten pounds since birth. WOOHOO!!

We have a thumb sucker.... It is very cute!! We do try and give her the pacifier, but she seems to just think this is easier....

24 weeks and counting.... It is getting harder and harder to get this picture. As you can see from the picture below, she has figured out how to move her arms and legs. Her face in the above picture is not that great, but she was holding still.

The swing - one of our new friends. We tried using another smaller one I had bought, but she still does not like it. I let her try a cradle swing at our friends' house, and we were sold on getting one ourselves.

Mother's Day Idea

Hey Everyone!

I am just putting in "a plug" for my mom's flower business.... If you are looking for a corsage or floral arrangement for your mother for that special day, give her a call or e-mail her. I am very biased, but I think she does a fabulous job!!!....

Blessing Day

Thank you to everyone who supported us on this special day.... Little Miss Abigail continues to be a little miracle. We love her more each day....

I will post more pictures when I get them. There were multiple cameras going on Sunday, and these are the pictures I have so far.

My mom made this dress for my blessing day, and the blanket is from that day, too - made by a family friend of my mom's. I made the bow, and my friend got Abigail the bracelet - that way she has something of her own for the future. I also had some white booties on her - made for Abigail by another friend's mom.

Hopefully, these girls will be as good of friends as their mommies are!!

Thanks for the doll for Easter, Grandma Jones!

Happy Easter!

Growing up, many Easters included my family going to the cemetery to visit my brother's grave. My mom had a preemie baby between me and my brother.... It was nice to share in that tradition with Abigail this Easter. Other visits included visiting Grandpa Riding's grave.... You can see Abigail was not very happy for parts of the trip - and we forgot the pacifier. Oops!

Abigail was having lots of fun with Grandpa Jones and Aunt Marilee.

Daddy got Abigail all dressed up for her first time to church. We went to the baby blessing for my cousin's baby.... We are going to slowly start taking Abigail to church now....

A trip to the park.... John's extended family had an Easter gathering at the park..... I figured the rain cleaned the air enough that it was okay to be outside for a little bit.... I had oxygen on the back and Abigail in the front - with the carrier John helped me figure out how to use. By the end (if you can tell in the picture) I was ready to go because it got cold and windy....

I said farewell to my "Symphony" pump and bought a different pump.... It was debatable (depending on who you talk to) on whether or not using a non-hospital grade pump would make my (already low) milk supply go away, but it seems to be maintaining.

HAPPY FIVE MONTHS OLD!!

It's hard to believe five months has already gone by. Little Miss Abigail's personality just keeps showing more and more. She has discovered that her hand and fingers taste pretty good when she can't find her pacifier. She is talking and smiling more and more. She enjoys looking at the pictures in books. She sits pretty well while we are reading them. She is starting to sleep longer in the night - never thought three hours of straight sleep would be so beautiful - maybe it will last.... Abigail is such a good baby - even if she has a hard time not being the center of mommy's attention at times.... We love her very much!

Another cheesey side note - April 8th marked three years for John and I meeting on our blind date!.... Where does time go? Now look where we are...

Daddy was looking at a Legos Catalog, and Abigail thought it looked interesting, too.

Measuring up at 21 weeks!! Wow.... She has got to be close to ten pounds by now.

Smiling and Talking

This is a dress I bought even before I was pregnant, and I have looked forward to putting my future little girl in it ever since.... Abigail is talking and smiling more. I love it! and need to remember to get out the video camera. This morning while laying in her bed and making all sorts of sounds we think she made a couple of sounds that could be counted as possible laughs or giggles - or pre-laughs. IT IS SOOOO CUTE!!!!

She is getting stronger and stronger with her head, neck, and legs. The other day she really got pushing with her legs.... Crazy!

We attempted nap time in her crib for the first time yesterday. It didn't last long, but that's okay. I think it is mostly because we don't have her crib mattress half elevated like her bed in our room. I don't think she is ready for laying flat while sleeping -- looks like she may still be struggling with some reflux.

We had John's grandma over for dinner on Thursday. We call her Nonna - grandma in Italian. She spoils us, and just adored holding and feeding Abigail.

Abigail went to her first restaurant on Monday. I was a little nervous, but decided it was okay because of the good report at the pulmonologist. It was also a smaller place, and I knew it would not be very crowded that night -- The Merrills were going out to eat for John's sister's birthday.... It is one of my favorite places to eat -- John took me there on our first date, and I have enjoyed it ever since. So, Abigail's first restaurant was where Mommy and Daddy went on their first date. Yes, I know it is very cheesey, but I am cheesey.... We both enjoyed a very yummy lasagna dish that practically melted in your mouth as you ate it. The cheesecake and chocolate mousse was also good - though not good for you.
