Another Tooth

It's here.... I was laughing and talking with Abigail as we walked through a store yesterday, and during one of her big smiles I saw it.... We were wondering if it was coming by the way she was eating on Saturday.... So, Abigail now has two cute little bottom teeth.

Reading Time

Abigail seems to be already loving books. She seems to really like the ones with lift-up flaps. This is a book that Abigail gets really excited about. My friend gave it to me when I was in the hospital just before Abigail was born.

P.S. -- Can anyone tell me where the month of July has gone?

"Cute as a Button"

*I wish I had these pictures cropped and looking better, but I am still getting things back in order on my computer after it crashed -- Thanks to a wonderful sister-in-law and father-in-law I have a working computer again....

This is a dress from Nonna (John's Grandma -- Italian for Grandma).... We had fun taking pictures and sending Nonna a Thank You letter with pictures of the dress.

We have found our feet....

One of the new fun things to see is Abigail playing with Daddy even more. He will be close to her face playing with her and making her laugh and she is now grabbing his face and laughing.... This morning was also really cute: John was kissing her good-bye as he was leaving for work -- and Abigail reached out and so very cutely touched his face.... I LOVE IT!!! (and know John loves it, too)

HOME NURSE VISIT

Monday we had a second visit from an in home nurse that is keeping track of Abigail after the NICU. Abigail was weighed and came out at 16lbs 1oz. An evaluation of her development found that she is functioning as a six month old.... FABULOUS!!! Abigail is developing right on track -- maybe even a little ahead of schedule. Had she been born on my due date, she would be five months on Sunday.

I just continue to feel so grateful for such a precious little girl and the many, many miracles that we have seen and continue to see in her sweet little life!

We have a toothy!!

This morning we discovered a little pearly white making its way through Abigail's gum.... I was wondering if it would happen soon. I also noticed her bottom gum looking a little different, and John said he knew it was here this morning when Abigail was trying to eat his hand.... And now we can see the cute little thing.

Really?? Already??.... She appears to be getting ready to get mobile soon, too.... Wow!! I need to finish up some baby proofing....

Eight Months Old

Time is flying so very quickly -- Abigail is already 8 months old!! I love watching her little personality come through more and more.

She is generally a very happy little baby, but eating and sleeping are things you do her way and on her time.

She continues to discover that her hands and feet are good for getting her things, and she can sure get her arms and legs moving. It is so fun to watch her focus on something, and then try to get it. She is still learning how to coordinate her hand movements. She just kind of throws her hands at something - and sometimes she can pick it up -- and then is pretty happy. It is cute how she sometimes gets frustrated when she can't get something she wants.

She is rolling over more and more -- and someday soon may figure out that rolling can get her somewhere.... We let her try the walker at Grandma Merrill's house today -- she thought moving around was a fun idea, but it was from mostly being pushed around.

Abigail is still a fabulous sleeper. Tonight, she could not wait for me to stop singing and talking to her - and just wanted to be in bed.

She is making more and more sounds and laughter. She has also discovered a little bubble blowing in all of her drooling. Her clothes are sure getting wet in the day -- and even a bib can't seem to last long before it is all wet.

Friday we went to a follow-up eye doctor appointment. Abigail's eyes continue to be developing properly so far. Woohoo!! More blessings to count. Preemies often have eye troubles.

BATH TIME FUN
Bath time is becoming even more fun in our household. Our new routine is to bathe her in the evening, just before bed, after eating cereal. She is starting to kick and splash more. The last couple of nights we have been giving her some foam bath letters to play with, and she has fun playing with them... more opportunities to get the video camera rolling.

I love how cute she looks when she sleeps.

EATING TIME FUN

This picture is from the Fourth of July. Abigail was having fun being fed by Grandma Amy.

Here are Abigail's two most recent bear pictures.

We love you Abigail!! We are so grateful that we get to have you in our family. We love that you love us. It sure does make our day (and melt our hearts) when you get so excited to see us.

Definitely a Mom

So, I just thought it was funny.... This afternoon I was washing my hands and noticed something in the mirror on my shoulder.... At some point today Abigail threw up on me and I did not know it -- hope there is not more of a trail somewhere else in the house.... Oh well if there is -- It just reminded me that I am "definitely a mom" -- and I LOVE IT!!
