I GOT TO HOLD MY BABY!!
Abby's bed when she is being left alone.
A kiss good-bye from daddy (I missed the first one, but made sure to capture this one....)
It was a great day at the NICU for Abby and I. We got to start Kangaroo Care. It is not your traditional "holding", but I got to have my little princess laying on me. At one point she kept trying to turn her head, but that was not really possible since she is connected to the ventilator. She periodically set off one of her machines with her movements.... I really like today's nurse and all of the questions she could answer -- and the depth of the answers. These NICU nurses are so wonderful.
We are starting to notice little things she does. She makes some cute expressions. It is really cute when she wrinkles up her forehead. It also seems like she likes to dangle her right leg over the little pillow that keeps her contained when sleeping -- I will have to take a picture.
Oh -- It was so fun. She would open her eyes every now and then, and I would just sit and talk to her. I can usually talk to her now without tearing up. However, I decided to try singing to her, but could barely make it through singing "I Am a Child of God" to her.... It was also good that John was able to be there by the end to see us together. It is so cute watching him be a daddy. It is very cute when he talks to her....
I am excited to do it all again tomorrow....

Yea for such a big mile stone!
Kim, that is the most precious thing, I'm so glad you got to hold her (kinda). What a great achievement for her. Sounds like she a fighter. I was telling my bishop about you and he told me about his little girl, now 19!!!! She was also born early. She was 3 1/3 months early. He said it was a long hard road to get her home from the hospital but life has been wonderful since, and they have 4 kids now!!! I know it helps to hear stories, so there you go!! Keep on being a great mom for your little one, we continue to pray for your little family.
Isn't Kangaroo care wonderful? I got to do that with Camden it and was so nice to feel them and cuddle. And the NICU nurses are fabulous. I am sorry for the Abby's neighbor, I know how that family feels. Congrats on your little fighter!
Hey kim:
We have a gift for Abbey and just wanted to know the best way to get it to you guys.
Let me know.
Kim, It is so good to hear that you held Abby. Ben sunbathed when he was born, and he just turned 20! I loved to feed him so that I could cuddle him. I sent your blog site to Josh & Audrey Henderson so they can keep up as well. Take care.
Oh, I bet she AND you were just in heaven being so close again :) You have a strong little girl there! We are praying for you all!
Love & Prayers.
That's so sweet. I'm so glad you finally got to hold her.
I'm glad she's doing so well.
